Perhaps the section that got most people scratching their heads was the tie breaker. To remind you, we asked what the sale price was for a parcel of 250 acres that Robinson & Hall sold in 1932. The farm was making a loss of £500 a year and comprised a house, buildings and land. We had many varying answers to this, ranging from as low as £1/acre to as high as £1,050/acre. However, we can reveal that the farm actually sold for £11/acre! By contrast, today a similar unit would probably sell for around £9,000/acre; perhaps not a bad investment!
Thank you to all those who entered.
