Strategic Plans & Local Development Framework
All local authorities are in the process of preparing new development plans for their areas of jurisdiction. The plans consist of a series of Local Development Documents, which became essential with the introduction of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
It is necessary for land and property owners to get involved in the new plan-making process if they are to develop robust investment strategies for their land, protect their long-term interests and maximise asset values.
Our planning and development team remains abreast of such legislative developments and of the way that the new plan process is being introduced by local authorities across the region. This enables us to:
- provide timely advice on when and how to promote land within the new framework
- prepare the necessary submissions
- monitor the progress of submissions, accommodating public consultation and responding to local authority and stakeholder queries
- advise landowners about the implications of policy and legislative changes and making amendments as necessary based upon the feedback received.
