Hydro

Hydropower is the world’s No. 1 source of renewable energy with approximately 40% of the UK’s renewable energy being provided by hydropower.  It has little or no CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gas emissions and high energy payback, hydropower supports clean development and is being recognised as being fully renewable and sustainable.

We are investigating a number of small hydro schemes in rivers at present and whilst these have different challenges to some of the other renewable technologies, hydro power schemes will have an important part to play in meeting the targets set by government.

There are various organisations which may be able to provide grants and/or funding for hydro products.
